Every component of the Balanced Big Brake Kit is meticulously engineered for top-tier performance, right down to the smallest detail, such as the bleed nipple. All brake caliper metal fittings and disc drive bobbins are crafted from stainless steel to ensure exceptional durability and resistance to corrosion.

Apollo brake calipers feature a robust 2-piece bolted design reinforced with high-tensile 12.9-grade steel bolts in the caliper bridge section. Advanced FEA (Finite Element Analysis) reveals that these bolts significantly enhance caliper stiffness compared to mono-block designs. A stiffer bridge reduces elongation during braking, resulting in a firmer, more responsive pedal feel, even after extended periods of intense braking. This is particularly beneficial as mono-block aluminum bridges tend to soften under high temperatures.

Unlike most cast calipers that rely on gravity casting, Apollo Series caliper bodies are machined from heat-treated, low-pressure castings. This premium manufacturing process forces the aluminum alloy into molds under pressure, yielding greater consistency and superior strength. This method gives Apollo calipers a clear performance advantage, offering strength and stiffness comparable to forged designs while exceeding the quality of gravity-cast alternatives.

To ensure durability and aesthetic longevity, Apollo brake calipers are coated using an advanced high-temperature Teflon™ polyester process rather than traditional powder coating. While powder coatings often crack and fade with heat exposure, EBC’s specialized finish delivers a tough, fade-resistant layer that’s easy to clean and keeps the calipers looking great for years. This innovative coating system, similar to what’s used in premium cookware, ensures that Apollo calipers are as visually enduring as they are mechanically superior.

Floating Brake Rotors

- Two-Piece fully floating discs.

- Race-derived G3500-grade high-carbon cast iron friction rings.

- Aluminium bells machined from aerospace-grade aluminium.

- Curved vanes for improved ability to dissipate heat.

- Bobbins are machined from stainless steel which cannot rust.

  • Fully floating 2-piece rotor that allows outer ring to expand freely in response to heat. This reduces stress which in turn extends rotor life and reduces the tendency for rotor cracking during extreme use.

  • Drive bobbins machined from a single piece of stainless steel giving maximum strength and corrosion resistance. Stainless bobbins reduce the requirement for regular disc maintenance and ensures the outer ring continues to float freely even when used on the public road with corrosive salts and other road grime.

  • Each bobbin assembly features an anti-rattle spring clip ensuring silent operation when driving on the public highway. Rotor rings feature 48 directional internal curved vanes for improved rotor cooling.

Yellowstuff Performance Brake Pads

- Extremely low metal content.

The compound has an exceptionally low metal content, making these pads gentle on discs. Any brake dust can be easily wiped off painted wheels and calipers with a damp cloth. Yellowstuff™ pads won’t wear down rotors like many other performance pads, with some users reporting a wear ratio of one set of pads to one set of discs! While not a legal requirement for brake caliper conversions, Yellowstuff™ material is ECE R90 approved, ensuring these pads perform safely in all climates, at any vehicle speed, and under all weather conditions.

Super Dot 4 Brake Fluid

- BF307+ EBC's Super Dot 4 Brake Fluid

- 307 degrees C boiling point

- Allowing you to push harder for longer.

Each kit comes with 1 liter of BF307+ Super DOT 4 brake fluid, which boasts an impressive boiling point of 307°C—much higher than standard DOT 5.1 fluid. This elevated boiling point provides exceptional endurance for your braking system, allowing you to push your vehicle hard for longer periods without the risk of heat soak causing the fluid to boil and resulting in brake fade.

This DOT 4 fluid is compatible with all vehicles that use DOT 3, DOT 4, and DOT 5.1 fluids, including those equipped with ABS systems.
